Julie started the firm after more than 23 years in the financial services industry. She began her career in disability insurance, where she found it very satisfying to help those who were sick or hurt and unable to make ends meet. “It gave me great joy to provide service that made a difference when people needed it the most,” she said. Julie has earned her Retirement Income Certified Professional® (RICP®) designation, which she uses to answer client questions about topics such as income planning or what to do with their 401(k) at retirement.

Transitioning to full-scale financial planning enabled Julie to pursue her passion: educating clients on all things financial. “I’m an accidental tourist to financial services,” she said. “I always wanted to be a teacher. Having the opportunity to help others understand complex and often unfamiliar concepts gives me a lot of satisfaction.”

Julie’s approach is to deliver a client experience that is never rushed or intimidating, an approach that is especially appreciated by the women she works with. She partners with Woman’s Worth®, a unique program designed to help women prepare for the unique financial challenges they face in their later years. Her work with female clients has also earned her Circle of Excellence recognition by Women in Financial Services (WIFS), a national organization that supports women in the insurance and financial services fields.

Julie and her husband, Greg, have eight children and two grandsons. Julie and Greg live on 17 acres in the country, where they care for their 14 chickens and spend more time outside than inside. “We love the quiet,” Julie said. “The tractor runs regularly, fresh eggs come daily, the air is clean, and the stars are fully visible.” She fills up her free time with a variety of activities, including gardening, painting, working out, and playing with her grandsons.

Ali Kate is Julie's oldest daughter and has been a part of Keystone Wealth Management for almost two years. She handles the administrative duties of the office as well as the Medicare knowledge to help our clients navigate health insurance as they retire. Her experience in healthcare administration and desire to help people has encouraged her education regarding Medicare.

Ali Kate attended the University of Alabama where she met her husband, Adam, and they now live in Powhatan with their two boys, Henry and Caleb. Ali Kate enjoys reading, spending time with family, and relaxing on the beach.

Adam has joined our team as lead paraplanner for Julie after spending over a decade in the financial industry through roles such as case support, cost accounting, and software integration. Adam has a vast knowledge of all the detailed aspects of the financial planning process and enjoys helping retirees plan their financial path.

Adam is originally from Alabama and attended the University of Alabama where he studied Financial Planning and Spanish and was a letterman collegiate swimmer. He and his wife, Ali Kate (Julie's daughter), have two boys and they are enjoying life in Powhatan. Adam enjoys reading history, swimming, and all things related to the great outdoors.
